Gunsyn – The Top Winning Bracco Kennel in the UK
Hello and welcome to Gunsyn. I have been involved with HPR Gundogs for over thirty years, breeding Bracchi Italiani and previously Weimaraners, enjoying considerable success in the show ring.
The Gunsyn kennel was established in 1988 with Weimaraners and later in 2000 with Bracchi Italiani. Gunsyn is a small team of much-loved family dogs who show and work. All my dogs live in the house and are very much part of the family. We are based in Scotland.
I have achieved considerable success over the years in the show ring having won BOB at crufts on numerous occasions and currently I have bred 7 show champion Bracchi but also made up a further 2 not bred by me. Gunsyn currently has 9 Bracchi champions to its name in both the UK and the USA.
Gunsyn holds the breed record holder title as well as being the very proud breeder and owners of the first ever champion in the UK -
Sh Ch Gunsyn Aafia. Gunsyn also bred the first Junior warrant winner and international champion in the UK - Int Ch Ir Ch Sh Ch Gunsyn Sesto Elemento with Brackenmist JW Sh Com. We are also very proud of BISS GCH CH Gunsyn Hotstuff in the USA - 2024 BICA Speciality Winner!
I am a Kennel Club Assured breeder and breed selectively for quality not quantity. I have written the only UK book on the breed -
“A New Owners Guide to the Bracco Italiano”, which is available
from the breed club or direct from me. I am always happy to discuss the breed with prospective owners, please email, message or phone me.
I award challenge certificates in both Weimaraners and Bracchi and have had the wonderful honour of being the first breed specialist to judge Bracchi at Crufts in 2011. I am extremely passionate about the breed and take on a leading role in promoting the health and education about the breed to new owners and prospective judges. I am also a KCAI Trainer with many years experience training handlers and their dogs.
